Mission

Our mission is to provide native Africans and Caribbeans in and around Corner Brook, and the West Coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, with a taste of home while introducing Canadians and other nationalities to the rich and diverse flavours of African and Caribbean cuisine, fashion and community.

Vision

Our vision is to create a welcoming space where everyone can enjoy the vibrant tastes of Africa and the Caribbean while supporting the needs of an underserved community. We aim to become the leading African-Caribbean cultural and community hub in Atlantic Canada.

Core Values

At Afro Tide, we are not just selling groceries; we are also fostering community, preserving traditions, and introducing new culinary experiences to Corner Brook, NL. Our business is built on the values of accessibility, convenience, authenticity, inclusion, innovation, and cultural appreciation, ensuring that no one has to compromise on taste or heritage because of geographical limitations.

About AfroTide

AfroTide is an African-Caribbean cultural design and engagement company dedicated to bridging cultural gaps and helping newcomers find a sense of place and voice on the West Coast through heritage, food, fashion, and community. AfroTide will serve as a one-stop shop for all African Caribbean grocery needs, offering a wide range and selection of authentic ingredients, spices, snacks, and specialty products. By doing so, we aim to eliminate the inconvenience of long-distance shopping or costly imports, providing a convenient and reliable solution for the local community. Beyond being an online grocery store, AfroTide will serve as a cultural hub, bringing people together through food once a physical store is made available. We will cater to diaspora communities seeking familiar flavours and food enthusiasts eager to explore new cuisines. Afro Tide aims to become a cornerstone of cultural exchange and convenience in Corner Brook by offering high-quality, authentic products and exceptional customer service.
